Britain’s first ever Cornish Pasty Week runs from Sunday 25th February 2018 to Saturday 3rd March. Organised by The Cornish Pasty Association, Cornish Pasty Week will culminate on the Saturday with the 7th World Pasty Championships, held at the Eden Project, Cornwall.

In the competition both amateur and professional pasty bakers will be showing off both traditional Cornish and unusual savoury pasty recipes in an effort to impress the judges.
Entrants come from all over the world. In 2017 the professional class was won by Canadian, Gerry Ramier, who runs the Piskie Pie company with his wife. In order to enter he had to bake his entry in Cornwall as only pasties baked in Cornwall can legally be called Cornish Pasties.
As well as the pasty’s visitors will enjoy a day of entertainment, music and comedy, including the Britpop group Dodgy and Cornish musicians, 3 Daft Monkeys, of Glastonbury fame.
Cornish Pasty Week 2018
The Cornish Pasty Association and it members, who make and sell pasty’s, are promising a ‘weeks’ worth of fun, special offers and information’ all about the world-famous Cornish specialty. Members will be sharing pasty making skills with community groups and schools, pub quizzes are planned and you’ll be able to follow everything on social media, #pastysmile.
On the associations website, Jason Jobling, Chair of the Cornish Pasty Association, says, “It’s about time the Cornish Pasty gets a whole week to itself, for people to celebrate, enjoy and indulge in its deliciously unique reputation and heritage and I’m delighted that we have been able to bring this idea to life. This humble dish may have its origins down the Cornish mines, but it is now worth over £300 million to the local economy and is without doubt one of the nation’s favourite foods”.
