Circle art gallery exhibitions 2019

Circle art gallery shows contemporary art from emerging and well-known artists. Based just outside Wadebridge, Circle art gallery is run by John O’Carroll, an artist with a studio on site, and Lucy Thorman. Together they put together a series of exhibitions each year. Below are some forthcoming art exhibitions in 2019.

  • ‘Circle Spring Mixed’shows 19 contemporary artists from the UK and Europe and runs until 12 June 2019. Details of the artists can be found on the Circle art gallery website.
  • ‘Painter and Poet – Spring to Sea’sees poet Myra Schneider express her feelings about the work of artist Bob Aldous. This unusual poetry and art exhibition can be seen up until 14 May 2019. A fascinating preview of the artists work side by side can be seen on the Circle art gallery website together with artist profiles.
  • ‘Blue Blue Ocean’ exhibition, also showing until 14 May 2019, is a focus on a single Cornish artist and metalworker, Shelley Anderson. Looking at the Circle website there is a stunning theme around the colour turquoise, inspired from seas and sights from around the world.
  • ‘Sordidum Somnium’, showing from 18 May to 12 June seems a little NSFW according to the Circle art gallery website https://circlecontemporary.co.uk/augustine-bridgland/. The names of some of the amazing floral prints from young artistic duo Augustine and Bridglandare more for the open minded than the conservative.

Explore the Circle website for a whole list of other exhibitions and artists. You can also find out more at the Padstow Tourist Information Centre.

The gallery is only a 10-minute drive from Glen Valley Holiday Cottage and there is free parking and a café on site called Strong Adolfos.
